About Us
WELCOME TO ELEV8 DANCE ACADEMY
Read More
Elev8 Dance Academy opened its doors in 2011 with Kat Hendy leading the way. Since then the Academy has grown and developed, with additional classes added to the schedule, workshops, shows, and more. We offer Ballet, Street Dance, Tap, Lyrical, and Acro for a variety of ages at our Thursday/Saturday Academy, and offer regular monthly workshops in Contemporary and Creative Dance.
We offer IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) examinations in Ballet and have a 100% pass rate.
Kat Hendy is the Principal and Ballet teacher, Amy O'Sullivan is the Street Dance Teacher and cover Principal, and we have a team of our senior dancers (Lucy, Phoebe, Teyla, Evie and Gracie) taking the role of teaching assistants.
We promote a fun, safe, and rewarding learning environment for all of our students, with their confidence and ability at the forefront of their training.
It is easy to book a free trial class with us, or enquire to find out more. Simply contact Kat on kat@elev8danceacademy.co.uk or use the 'contact' page on this website.
Our Teachers
The teaching team are professionally trained dancers who have a passion for dance, and for teaching others to dance. In addition to being highly accomplished and qualified in their fields, they are also energetic, positive and caring people.
All of the team have fully enhanced DBS clearance and Chaperone Licences.

Kat Hendy (FHEA, MA, BA, IDTA Bt. L4Dip)
Kat is the Principal. She is a registered member of the IDTA and delivers the Ballet, Tap, Acro, and Lyrical provision. She is also a Contemporary specialist, teaching at UG level during the week.

Amy O'Sullivan (MA, BA)
Amy is the Street Dance Teacher, and Contemporary Teacher, with specialist skills in performance and competition choreography. She has worked extensively in Dance Development in the UK, and oversees the Dance Academy if Kat is absent.

Teaching Assistants
We have a wonderful team of Senior Dancers taking the role of teaching assistants. Pictured above (left to right):
Phoebe, Evie, Lucy, Gracie, & Teyla.
They assist with our Saturday morning classes and are committed dancers themselves.
